The Origins Of Gang Violence - 1842 Words

The history of gang violence is a topic that I am dearly interested in because I have a passion for wanting knowing the past and how it changed over time. I plan to find out how gang violence have changed over the last 90 years. Gang violence started during the early years of the Great Depression when the government had banned alcohol. The origin was in New York City and gangs were formed by the American Mafia. As years passed, the location of gangs had spread throughout the United States. It once was affiliated with alcohol, but now is affiliated with drugs and the race of the members had changed from European immigrants to hispanics and African Americans. I predict that gang violence will continue to happen and become very progressive over the course of time.
