China also has embarked on an ambitious plan to modernize its military. It goes without saying that in the recent times, Chinas rock n roll in the world affairs has increased everywhere time and China is doing its best to gain a strategic edge not only over its rivals in Asia but also over the Western powers (Mahtaney 4). All these facts constitute a good reason as to why China is poised to reach out a superpower status in the future. Chinas E conomy In the last three decades, Chinas economic egression has been lightly impressive and the nation does seem to have the potential to sustain this growth in the times to come. Simply speaking, China has one big population that not only serves the purpose of creating a big and lucrative domestic market but also extends to China ready access to cost-effective and affordable labor. non to mention that China is a country endowed with ample natural resources and big sea and land area, which further contribute to and facilitate its economic growth. It was Deng Xiaoping who introduced economic reforms in China in the late 70s. Since the introduction of these reforms, the Chinese economy has developed spectacularly. In the period 1979-1993, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of China registered an bonnie growth rate of 9.3 percent (Cass, Williams & Barker 91).
